2008 Other EventsMidwest Enduro Stock Car Series – Oval Track Saturday, May 10
Upwards of 80 Cars All Racing At Once! |
 | Local racers and drivers from throughout the Midwest will be racing on America’s Legendary Oval on Saturday, May 10!
For some, this fulfills a dream, as the drivers grew up watching their heroes race on The Mile, and now it’s their turn. This affordable, family-friendly event will offer plenty of extras for the kids, car club show, a driver autograph session and other activities.
As many cars register and pass inspection will be allowed to race…all at the same time around America’s Legendary Oval! The first car to complete the specified distance considered the winner. The Series consists of two classes of “stock” passenger cars, and only at The Mile do these classes run together. The two divisions that compete simultaneously are the big cars – American sedan V8’s, and the small cars – 4 cylinder cars of various makes.
In the interest of safety, multiple modifications to the cars are required, plus, there are planned yellow flag sessions for mandatory refueling pit stops, as the cars are required to carry smaller fuel cells.
This will be the third season of Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series racing at The Milwaukee Mile, and the first of two races planned this season for the series, which was founded in 1985. The Series competes on different configurations that range from 1/4 to ½ mile dirt and paved ovals, in addition to racing on 1 mile asphalt and clay oval tracks. The Series also competes on the road course at the historic Milwaukee Mile. The Series travels to different tracks located throughout Wisconsin & Illinois.

Harry A. Miller Club – Millers at Milwaukee Vintage Indy Car Event Friday-Saturday, July 11-12
Spectacular Event Includes ‘Exercising’ of Timeless Classics
The Harry A. Miller Club meet is one of the finest vintage open wheel events in the country. Formed by Milwaukeean David Uihlein, the club celebrates the genius of Wisconsin native Harry Artemus Miller of Menomonie. The Millers at Milwaukee Vintage Indy Car Event has grown into a spectacular convergence of collectors of classic open wheel machinery of racing’s Golden Age. Miller-built race cars and race engines dominated the Indianapolis 500 and board tracks across America in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Miller’s craftsmanship and ingenuity produced an amazing lineage of 39 Indianapolis 500-winning race cars.
The Miller Meet celebrates the classics of Indy Car racing, including impeccably restored pre-WWI Indy Cars that are true works of art, including Marmons and Mercers, Duesenbergs and Millers of the 1920’s and 1930’s.
Sponsored by Briggs & Stratton Corporation, each year, dozens of enthusiasts display and exercise their restored machines on the historic one-mile oval. It is much more than a car show, as many of the priceless cars breathe life and are driven around America’s Legendary Oval!
